Over 200 leaders urge next UN chief on gender equality
More than 200 current and former heads of state, UN leaders, and organisations are calling on the next UN Secretary-General to commit to five concrete actions advancing gender equality across the UN system. The letter warns that the UN faces a critical test of its commitment to gender equality amid global backlash against women's rights and notes that the UN has never been led by a woman in 80 years and nine Secretaries-General.
